Food Pairing

Simple shellfish and fish dishes prepared with olive oil and garlic can be a perfect match.

Stews and braised meats, particularly lamb with mediterranean herbs, work well with the aromatics of cinsault.

Classic Mediterranean dishes featuring garlic and hearty herbs are a great complement.
Origins
The grapes come from vines grown in the limestone and clay soils of the cool climate “Green Provence,” giving the wine extraordinary freshness and vitality. The region's terroir is distinguished by pronounced mountainous reliefs, which aid in trapping the perfect climate. This leads to mild autumns and springs, coupled with hot summers and cold winters - ideal conditions for growing world class vines.
We believe your product is only as good as your process. That’s why we take great pride in our winemaking process and the high standards we hold for ourselves. At Out East, our vineyards have been tended by the same families for multiple generations ensuring world-class growing and winemaking standards.

PRODUCTION
Our grapes, which consist of Grenache and Cinsault varietals, are grown on some of the most premium land in the region of “Green Provence.” They are harvested in September during the early morning hours when they are at their peak: moist, fresh and plump.
Once picked, the grapes are sorted by hand for quality control, then destemmed and crushed at approximately 45°F to avoid oxidation. Both the free run juice and pressed juices are vinified in stainless steel containers. The entire vinification process is performed in a temperature-controlled environment to ensure consistency and freshness.

SUSTAINABILITY
Beginning with the 2019 vintage, and anticipating our consumers’ expectations for eco-responsible and sustainable wines, Out East Rosé will be one of the first Côtes de Provence rosé’s to obtain Level 3 HVE Certification for the 2019 vintage - the highest environmental certification in France. Haute Valuer Environmental (HVE) - literally High Environmental Value - is an official recognition by the French Ministry of Agriculture of the environmental performance of our vineyards and winemaking practices. HVE Certification covers four key areas:
1. BIODIVERSITY:
Protecting our land and promoting biodiversity to maintain balanced and healthy agricultural ecosystems.
2. PLANT PROTECTION:
Reducing the use of pesticides and fungicides and working towards 0 residues in our wines.
3. FERTILIZER MANAGEMENT:
Utilizing fertilization products in a minimally invasive and rational manner.
4. WATER RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:
Efficient use of water in all farming and winemaking practices.
This certification offers a guarantee that the pressure applied to the environment by farming practices (on air, water, soil, climate, biodiversity and landscape) is kept to a minimum. Beyond viticultural practices, this label also takes into account the vineyard’s environment and encourages us to have a global agro-environmental reflection.
We are thankful to our winegrowers, cellar managers and production teams for their commitment to environmental sustainability.
